“Blanchefleur, is a centifolia rose, a hundred petals rose, much less popular than many others. The centifolia, as witnessed in the ancient Dutch pottery, is a complex experiment of various breeds of roses created in the Netherlands, home to many of the old roses handed down to us. The story this mistreated but generous and indestructible as well as superbly scented rose hides is breathtaking.
